Coming back from COVID, we can’t wait!
The world is a whole lot of strange right now, the recent weeks have tested and taught us so much. Hopefully, we will remember the importance of living in the present as we embrace the new normal. I have been asked several times, since having had to close PoppySeed for what will be 15 weeks on the 29th of June, what I have been doing to occupy myself. Surprisingly, the answer is confused, I have been doing lots and also nothing, a strange kind of balance where time sped by and lists kept growing.
Uncertainty is part of life but something like a global pandemic brings an entirely different level of challenge and a completely new test. The only option was to dig in, assess, think and plan – and I have been doing plenty of each. The hard part was to balance out the thinking, you can find yourself doing a little too much, coming up with too many ideas, unanswered questions and often too many potential problems. This time has been a gift too, an opportunity to reset, to reconnect and set a new pace for the restart.
Where to: For PoppySeed we have refocused on our product, refining who and what we are and what is important to us. Personality, of people, product and place, has been the cornerstone of our adventure since our first day, almost 13 years ago, and we want our guests to feel this. We value our customers and are sincere in our efforts to be a place of welcome. The short recess has been all about resetting our processes to work with the guidelines to ensure we keep our customers centre stage, comfortable and safe.
Our menus are refreshed, systems revised and teams energised. All of us are ready for the next steps of the PoppySeed adventure. We have lovely changes, some small and some big. We have a pep in our step and bursting to restart conversations and reconnect. We have so missed our customers, our friends and each other – we love what we do and cannot wait to get back.
Next steps: While uncertainty remains, we are revitalised by the Irish effort, the community spirit and the support we have all shared, with and for each other, over the past weeks.
We look forward with positivity to the future. By working together and supporting each other we can ensure it is bright, interesting and happy. PoppySeed is ready for the present, the new normal, we hope you join the fun and look forward to seeing you soon,
With every good wish until the 29th of June,
Stay safe, Anne
